Jamaican roots reggae and live dub. Fearon is a living legend of roots reggae, performing and recording with some of the biggest names in the genre since the late 60’s including Lee "Scratch" Perry, and Coxsonne Dodd (Studio One).
Eclectic rock-folk, with hints of funk, hip-hop and world music. This all-woman band from L.A. features stunning three-part harmonies and occasional surprise instrumentation. They are endorsed by Fender instruments, and have opened for many nationally known acts, including 3rd Eye Blind, Reel Big Fish, and Citizen Cope.
Bluegrass, world music, jazz and beyond. Joe is
a multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire who has performed and recorded with many of the biggest names in music, including Jerry Garcia and David Grisman. He
will be performing music from his previous albums as well as selections from his new album, “Django Latino.” Also, don't miss his
family-oriented workshop “Recycled Music as Object and Idea” on the festival grounds at 3:00 PM!
Super Afro-beat. From Lagos, Nigeria to the San Francisco Bay Area, these Afro-beat explorers take Fela Kuti’s African jazz-funk into the 21st century.
They have recently returned from West Africa where they were the first Americans to play in the legendary New Africa Shrine in Lagos. Also, don't miss their two simultaneous workshops at 12:00 noon on the festival grounds! One of the workshops will feature their biodiesel tourbus, and the other will teach African Drum and Dance techniques!
